We offer complete weld testing services including non-destructive and destructive testing, weld consulting, inspection, and procedural review. Procedural qualification services can include post weld heat treatment (PWHT), bend, tensile, impact, macros and x-ray, when required.

To help evaluate a welder’s skill or develop a welding procedure, the process begins with customers creating a weldment from a pipe or plate.

Once the weldment is created, the customer sends it to our weld testing laboratory to be tested to a specific welding code. Our Certified Welding Inspectors will then perform a visual inspection (VT) on the weldment. If the VT is successful, we use our Weld Coupon Abrasive Cutter WTC-20HR to quickly remove test specimens (bend, tensile, impact, macro, etc.) from the weldment to exact dimensions.

Next, we use our Backstrap Removal Prep Tool BSRT-15/10 to remove any remaining back bar and prepare specimen edges. The specimens are then ready for bend testing using our Hydraulic Wrap Around Bender WTB-HRA. From there, the remaining specimens (tensile, impact, macro, ect.) can be processed to determine remaining test results.

Finally, Certified Welding Inspectors document test results and a Welding Engineer prepares mechanical test reports as well as any engineering documents (WPS, PQR, etc.) required by the customer.

Triangle Engineering has been providing materials, test equipment, metallurgy, weld testing and engineering services to the welding industry for over 60 years. We have the knowledge, expertise, and resources to provide consistent, quality-driven results to all our customers, no matter their needs or where they are in their welding career.

We use quick & efficient, proprietary weld test equipment at our expansive weld testing facility. This equipment helps to expedite the testing process, and keeps our services timely and cost effective.

Deciphering pages and pages of international welding codes and subsequent interpretation can be overwhelming. Our team of experts can help you quickly navigate all the technical requirements and provide the answers and results that you need, which saves you time and money.
